Subject: CHANGING VALVE SPRING IN SITU
Easy job, maybe a couple of hours.
Undo the battery, chock the car etc....take out the spark plugs.
Take off the valve cover, and take off the entire rocker assembly.
Thread some cotten rope into the spark plug hole of the offending cylinder.
Leave the end out so you can get it out later (this is the trick).
Slowly turn the engine over until the rope starts to compress and pushes the
valve up.
>From here it is the same procedure for any valve spring removal. You may
have to get creative with vise grips and such to recompress the new spring
though....
Have fun....But if one spring went others could follow.....
