That nut is really easy to remove. You just have to have the
steering column out first :) The long extension goes straight up through an
access hole, that is normally covered by the column.
The best tool I have found for removing the upper nuts is a palm
drive 1/4" with a 3" extension. The nuts are not very tight, and should not
be overtightened when reinstalled.
