Or, in a purely business sense, maybe they just had too many returns on the
Crane unit. Actually, that's the way a purely economically based business
is supposed to work, supply what sells.
If enough people were to return the "unsatisfactory" parts, then they would
be forced to supply better quality. A large part of the reason why lesser
quality parts are on the market is because there are a lot of people who
WILL settle for less than the best, especially when they think they may be
saving money. In the laws of supply and demand, different people have
different demands.
