Don't forget that electronic equipment usually GROUNDS the chassis
of the device. If your radio is touching any of the metal of the
car that chassis connection would need to be ground.
You could mechanically isolate the radio chassis from
any contact with the car chassis, then you'd only need to reverse
which polarity you hook to which wire.
