I agree with Skye. I found that a good dollop (New England term) of Contact
Cleaner (Radio Shack) worked wonders on the rheostat in my '77B. The rheostat
works
fine and shows no resistance at the 'bright' setting. It does a good job of
cleaning up the contacts in switches, too.
