As Bob and I were doing a 400 mile roadtrip in the truck today we started
talking cruise for my V-8 and his MGC. Has anyone used the JC Whitney
unit? I realize that they are considered the lowest form of parts
purveyors, but who else vends one? I know other "specialists" in the
conversion business list one. Napa may be able to source one. We do not
want to adapt a junkyard unit or scratch build. I know we will need to add
a clutch switch and use the magnet on the driveshaft, no problems in the
fitting. What we want to know before blowing $200 of our recreational
beverage fund, will it work reasonably well. The rod guys are using mostly
GM units with a big servo piston. We want small. And inexpensive.
