These are observations from the DGV on my 1980 MGB:

1: That's the vacuum connection.  The PO of my car just left it open.  I
connected it to the vacuum advance on the distributor (which I'm not sure
is working, but at least it's better than being open).

2: The throttle return spring on my carb is connected to a washer (with a
hole in it) on the exhaust manifold.  It's only about 2"-3" long.

The ColorTune did a good job for me; my mixture was much too rich.
