My two best babe stories:
When I met my wife, she was 20 years old and driving a 73 MGB. Myself, a big
block Chevy man thought, "Boy that's a neat little car". Twelve years, 15
MGB's, a TR6, a TR7, an MGA, and two (almost three) children later, we still
have the original 73 she drove. My wife can't blame me, she was the source of
the addiction......
Last summer I came home from work. My son (age three) met me on the front
porch. "Bye bye 6? " he asked. (translation: let's take a ride in the TR6).
I took him and his 6 year old sister for a ride. After riding down the
street, I stopped at the stop sign and took off, running the car up to 4500
rpm each time while going through the gears. At each shift, the kids heads
jerked back, but they never said a word. When I reached the end of the road,
I stopped at the stopsign, and leaned forward to check for traffic.
Simultaneously, my daughter leaned forward, looked me in the eye and said, "Do
that again Daddy!" Obviously, I obliged. What an experience.
