Trevor:
Check the archives. I wrote about my MGA 2.8 litre V6 coupe sometime in
the past year. It is even easier to do with a MGB. If you want the
easiest job, then go with a carb version with 5-speed. I have
multi-point injection (MPI) on mine with T700R4 auto-overdrive and it
was a fairly complex job, although John's Cars now sells a transmission
control module for the T700R4 box, but the MPI still requires some
electronics. I basically used the complete engine/trans/electronics from
a written-off Camaro. The price for the needed bits is much better when
purchased together, not to mention that you know that ALL of the pieces
are present.
It is, however, not a common occurrence and I only did my transplant on
a parts car that I have had for 17 years. The cost to you for the V6
transplant will likely be significantly more than the price of a full
rebuild of your B motor. Personally, I would not likely put a V6 in an
otherwise decent B, but that is just the way that I see it.

least one local clubber has that engine although I haven't seen the car.
Any ideas? Tips? References? The V8 would be nice because of the british
heritage, but the V6 has ample performance and there are a lot more of
them in north american junkyards.
