Well said Dan- the masks really dont give a very good finish -my 72 has
all five done in the manner you mention - though i cant remember what
paint i used, it was just common or garden hardware store paint.
I didnt clearcoat them and after 3 years and around 15-16000 miles they
are still fine.
/I would point out that i didnt make a note of how long it took but it
was MANY winter evenings....at a guess about 3 evenings per wheel minus
coffee breaks and the occasional TV programme!!
