I thought I new the most important about old
LBC's:
RUST
But:
No 2 is:
BLUE SMOKE ( + some 'rattling' from down there)
So here is my question.
A rebore +++ work, will cost around 10K
norwegian kroner.
The cylinder head is recently upgraded to
lead-free, port
polished ETC.
A reconditioned full engine will cost, with
norwegian VAT +
transport, around 15K norwegian ( 750£ from
Moss, + transport
and VAT)
Some say that the recon'd engines aren't as good
as a rebored
( + balanced) engine. A 'new' engine sounds
tempting, but..
Any experience out there ??
Brakes:
I am used to power brakes. Haven't had
unassisted brakes since
my 1964 Hillman Minx. (became nails in 73 :) :)
:) :) )
I would like a little better brakes. I am
waiting for Moss' tune
manual but because of strike in Norway, it could
take some
time. Any ideas out there ??
Also:
Washed my car, lots of water inside the coupe.
There is an air-intake grille in front of the
windshield.
Water goes down there, and via the boxed section
under the
dash, I can see water( + rust :( )
I can put parts of my fingers trough the fresh
air vent door,
but thats all :) I guess there should be some
drainig holes
there, where, and how do I reach/reopen them ?
Also, how do I remove the air intake grille?
Electrical:
Head light , right side. low beam OK, high beam
not working,
no light in dasboard or interior lamp. Map lamp
OK !
Any relations here? Everything else works ( I
think)
Where on the distributor do I connect the wire
from the
tachometer ??
A bit long, sorry

What should the W/R/D/C ratio be on an MG ??
W= Wash/polishing
R= Repair/maint.
D= Driving
C= Crying
