My 1970 was a bit different, but I think I have everything
sorted out.

The side light has two wires, power and ground. (this is a
single filament bulb, correct).

The front signal lights has two wires, one for each filament. The
case is grounded through the fender, I had to run a ground wire.

The headlights have three wires, one of which is ground. However,
the ground wire is much finer than the power wires so it appears
it expects to be grounded via the fender as well. It works as
is in my car but I'll have to run the headlights a while and see
if that little black wire gets hot.
