I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, if going stock is the answer, then
I'll do it. I just saw how many welds are required to put the thing
together, and that's where mine has failed, even with the proper brackets in
place. It's been patched so many times with OE parts...its time for a whole
new pipe from the manifold back.
The manifold seems fine, no visible cracks or leaks, just leaking from the
downpipe joint and back at various welds and such. The stock two muffler
system seems cumbersome....and I know there are systems out there with fewer
parts that have given many miles of good service.
No expert Brit car shops around here, and both coasts are a long way off for
me! I'm stuck with the clueless guys with welders and lifts here in BFE.
