Hello,
I'm hoping someone here could help.. The car audio shop that installed my
new stereo for my '74 MGB (chrome), somehow, when pulling through the
speaker wires or working behind the dash, pulled, shorted or otherwise
disabled my flashers/turn signals. The car audio shop states they don't know
how what they did could have caused this. Now, i do not doubt the exptertise
or experience of the people at this shop -- they are one of the very top
custom audio installers in the country -- but it's an LBC, so there you go.
Part of the endearing charm of the marque?! <g>

Observations:
All other lights still work. Hazard works.
The flasher relay was tested/replaced and that is good (not the problem).
The flashers will sometimes work (5% of the time?) (leading me to think is a
short..?) when it does choose to work, it's varied between the following:
 - it flashes normally for a few seconds, and then stops.
 - i'll flip the signal lever at a light, nothing will happen, and then a
few moments later, it will just start working! and then may last until the
light changes and i flip the lever back to center, or it stops working again
while still sitting at the light.
 - or, most rarely, it works normally when the lever is flipped and may even
do so for for several turns in a drive..
Most of the time, will get 2-3 slight, whimpy clicks from the relay then
nothing, and neither the flashers nor the inside indicator lights worked at
all.

in my electrical ignorance, i am wondering if it is a short (somewhere) that
is dropping the voltage to the relay?
any suggestions on how to track this down or what to look for?

Thanks
Scott Miller
