Hi,

Hope ya'll can give me some insight why my 77MGB is all of a sudden so ha=
rd
to start. =

When I had the Z-S carb off, I replaced the float bowl needle valve with =
a
Grosse Jet. I adjusted the float level to specs and I believe it was rig=
ht
in the middle of the suggested height range from the edge of the bowl. =

After getting it all back together it was hard to start.

The car once it caught was very touchy about throttle: it would die if y=
ou
tried to blip the gas. Idled fine and, once warm, ran fine. I readjuste=
d
the choke but the same problem persists.

Could an incorrect (say to high above the edge of the float bowl) be
causing this condition? I'm thinking that if the fuel level is low in th=
e
bowl the mixture could be overly lean causing the hard start and
sensitivity to throttle input which might lean the mixture out completely=
? =

Does this make sense?

All help will be appreciated,

Regards,
Michael.
