If an engine transplant is really in your heart, then
I wish you the best. But as a cost and labour saving step,
I don't think it will ever make sense.
There are piles of MGB blocks out there waiting for
a new car to push around. The cheapest and fastest
solution is probably to find an MGB engine that isn't
rebuilt but has some life in it, spend a few hundred
bucks and a few hours, and drive away.
