land rovers

okay, I know this is the wrong list, but does anyone
here have any experience with new model land rovers?
my dad is looking at a 96 Discovery at a dealership
with around 10k miles.
The nearest land rover dealership is 2.5 hours away.
Are these reliable vehicles, or are they plagued with
the Lucas problems our MGs are?
