I drove a 1941 Plymouth Bus Coupe in 1950 from Vancouver BC to Cornwallis Nova Scotia via New York City . The return was via Boston and Chicago. I left Halifax with $15, my girl wired me $100 which I picked up in St Stephen New Brunswick. I then made the run too Mount Vernon WA were I left my spare in exchange for a tank of gas to get me to Vancouver. About 5000 miles on $115.
