I want to thank everyone who responded to my MGA questions. As you may
recall, I had all sorts of electrical problems, and everytime I finnished
working on it, it wouldn't start. I'm kind of embarrassed but i promised
Carol I'd tell what was wrong so here it goes...
The car sat all winter but started right up in the spring. I started it
up plenty of times, played with lights, etc; but never ran it for long and
never charged the battery! It's amazing what a fully charged battery will
do. It's even more amazing what will work and what won't when a battery
is down. The car would start, the wipers would work, but the flasher unit
wouldn't work, nor would the fuel guage. The car would not start with
the flasher hooked up. What finally gave it away was when I hit the horn
and the battery hissed like it did when I pulled the starter. Anyway, I
don't know if I'll get it inspected and on the road this year or not, but
either way I really appreciate all the help I've gotten from the list.
Maybe I'll see some of you tomorrow night in Watkins Glen (I'm not sure
David deserves the credit for starting the Watkins Glen Thread :-) ).
