Ron,
Being an OF, I remember a problem my Dad had with a '59 Ch*vy. The
engine ran fine until the coil heated up. Then it would just quit. As
soon as it cooled down, ran fine again. Remember a coil is a transformer
with many coils of fine wire. If a wire breaks internally as the coil
heats up, the expansion of the core, wires etc. can open the circuit.
Then as soon as it cools everythings ok. I'd replace the coil.
