A friend of mine had overheating in his Mini Cooper, and we found three
problems : one, an extra fan was installed backwards!! neutralizing the
flow of air from the motor fan so the hot air was running back and forth.
Two, some bozo (I believe the sameone of the fan) had timed the motor with
piston number two, so surpprisingly it was running but 180 degrees off.
Three, the radiator was a mixture of 80% glycol Antifreeze and water,
glycol is a bad heat transfer chemical, so it was retaining heat instead of
getting rid of it. As we all know and gone through the esperience of
maladjusted carbs and along with the rest you can get quite a heat buildup.
Hope this may help out

Jorge
