If they don't have the special kingpin reaming tool it would be almost
impossible for them to get the two bushes reamed on the same centerline.
When they are done it may feel perfect and look great but one of the bushes
will be cocked and the kingpin will be rubbing against an edge of the bush.
It will wear quickly to point where the kingpin is in full contack with the
bush surface where the wear will slow down to a normal rate. By this time
however your kingpin floats around lose in the swivel arm. You can buy a
kingpin set and send the new set with your swivel arms to apple hydrolic, a
local mg guy with a reamer, or soemone on the list with a reamer and they
can set them up for your. They will also put the proper number of shimms in.
Similar to the bearing deal but let's not go there.... Or you could buy a
rebuilt kingpin swivel arm set. Of course you could buy the $200 reamer from
moss or you could possibly borrow it from your local MG club and do it
yourself.
