Yes, the machine shop could do that. The difficult part of the job is
that the centers of the holes must be perfectly straight and in line, so
the reamer used has to be long enough to work in both holes at the same
time. It's an unusual tool, expensive, and not many shops keep one
around for the occasional MG job.
