Doug, Kai, et. al.,

Sorry I didn't get to meet all of you either; I was working
registration
(Charlie said...."Oh, that'll be a great job, you'll get to see all the
cars....".)
I only distinctly remember TWO..The Purple Austin cropped and chopped whatever
with the
blower that was sucking in all the Sprites and Midgets in front of it in line
to
register... and then we heard this other one coming that had to have a
MONSTROUS blower
on it from the racket it was making..Turned out to be yours, and we knew it
wasn't
something your little one was playing with 'cause she was sound asleep, So we
got you
through as fast as possible because our resident mechanic was already out
rescuing a
dead Rover..... (At least I wasn't parking spectator Hondas, Minivans, etc for
4 hours
like my son-in-law.)
And then, as Charlie said, everybody started to leave after half-time
and the
door prizes. Once, again, you were memorial, I saw (rather, heard) you leave.
As for the door prizes; I handled the pre-registrations. Of the 116
(cars 101 to
216), 41 were LANCO members. We had 303 registrations total, including 10
no-shows. So I
think your math works out right ...41 divided by 116 times the square root of
303 =
49.248774 ...almost dead nuts to your 50/50. So your recount request is not out
of line.
If you'd gotten there soon enough you should have gotten a packet with a pen..
But if
you missed that, I'll gladly send you mine, and Larry can have my old one from
last
year, it still has a least 50% of the ink left in it!

Seriously, I too am happy that you all enjoyed the show and traveled
home
safely. Thanks to Charlie and Kaj Spencer, TOB co-chairmen, and their committee
for a
job well done, and to the Master Mechanic for another perfect day, weather-wise.

Dennis
