I was out for a ride yesterday and noticed a 61 MGA Roadster for sale at
the Cogwheel Shop, a small british (mostly) car garage. I looked it over
and chatted with the seller a bit. It appears to be complete and
original. The engine turns over but hasn't been started yet. It has been
in dry storage since 1981. The body is fair, straight with a few minor
dings and some bondo, will need body work and paint. Top, seats,
carpets, etc. will need to be redone. The tires (disk wheels) were good
and holding air so I guess it could be towed. It looks to be a
reasonable project car. If anyone is interested the sellers name is Dan
Grinnell at 707 546-2133. I wish I could buy it myself but don't have
the resources or space. I would be glad to find out more info on the
car...email me. They are asking $3500. I would guess that's negotiable.
The car is located in Santa Rosa, Ca. about 50 miles north of San
Francisco in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country. I have no
interest etc. in the car, just thought it might look good to a fellow
list member!
