Cliff...

I own two '58 ZB Magnettes. Unfortunately, both are in storage and have
been for quite some time. One is a varitone and the other is not. If you
have access to The Survivors Series Postwar MG & Morgan book by John
Blakemore & Henry Rasmussen, my varitone is featured it it.

The magnette makes a wonderful driver for an MG enthusiast whose family
has outgrown a two seater. At various times my magnettes were used as
drivers and family transportation. I also used to enjoy running the
Varitone in Salolm races. Late in the '70s there was a concour and salolm
race in Vancouver, BC followed by GoF-West in San Diego the following
weekend, folowed by a National Healey meet in Bend, OR the following
weekend. I had the Varitone at all three events.

There are two Magnettes residing close to me. Neither appear to be in
running condition. Also there was a Magnette for sale in the area a
couple of years back. Don't know if it sold or is still around.
