Jim: I consider it a better than even bet that the factory put the dash in a) before the seats were in and b) before the windscreen was in. You can console yourself that it's a knuckelbuster of a job, not particularly enjoyable, and just dig in and do it. Or, you could try the heroic-but-of-dubious-intelligence approach, and remove the windscreen and seats first.
