Which begs the obvious question:
If they sell new Dunlops for $130 and Daytons for $154 (according to
their catalog), why would one have them do a rebuild for $125?
I'm going thru a similar dilemma, my wheels have a few broken spokes and
I'm afraid that once I begin truing them, I'll break a few more. I'm
tempted to replace all, but with Moss/VB selling spokes/nipples at $1.50
ea., I'll be in the price range of new wheels.
Anyone have a inexpensive source for spoke/nipples?
On a similar subject:
Regarding spline/hub wear, I've followed the discussion on how to
measure/check for worn hubs, but what about worn splines on wheels?
Do they wear more or less frequent than the hubs or is it if the hubs
are worn so is the wheel? I've been tempted to pick up some used wheels,
but short of trying them on my hubs, how does one tell if they are worn?
