Replace all of the rubber bits while you're in there, not just the A-arm
bushings. Do the trunnion bushings and the bottom kingpin dust seals,
and use at least the GTV8 A-arm bushings (don't forget to grease the
spindles).
Are your tie rod ends really worn? Mine are fine after XX years of use,
but the inner ball joints on the rack have a bit of play. Just double
check to be sure you know where any play is actually coming from. Check
the condition of the steering rack gaiters while you're there.
Be very careful when removing the springs. I've not yet found a set of
spring compressors small enough to fit; I imagine you'll have to use the
"floor jack on the spring pan" method. BTW, do they REALLY need
replacing?
This would be a marvelous time for new rotors, if needed.

I dunno. How much do you want to spend? What kind of "basic road use"
do you have in mind? For a daily driver, I think the stock springs are
just fine. But then, I also think the lever shocks are just fine...
