My clutch hydraulics started acting funny all of a sudden. Last week the
engagement/disengagement point was near the top of the pedal stroke. Now
it's near the floor. On one occasion, I had to pump the pedal to get the
clutch to disengage so I could shift out of reverse.
I bled about a quart of new fluid through the system to no avail. The stuff
that came out was dark green in color. I can see no leaks in the system.
Anyway, I just had delivered a new clutch master cylinder and a rebuild kit
for the slave. I've been told that replacing the master cylinder is a job
you only want to do once. Does anybody have any advice to offer before I dig
in? I've also been told I can rebuild the slave in situ. Again, any advice?
Thanks in
advance,
George
