I was listening to "Car Talk" on NPR. One of there shows discussed how
they used to paint the underside and body cavities with used motor oil
to prevent rust out. They seemed to feel it worked. I shudder at the
pollution potential. This oil must wash off in wet weather. Oil does
not break down and if it gets into the ground water it is there for a
long time. It is a serious situation.
