We're not sure what causes the switches to fail using DOT 5, but my hypothesis is that the silicone fluid has a high dielectric and acts like an insulator on the switch internal contacts. If someone has a failed switch, it may be possible to confirm this by rinsing out the switch with Chemtool or contact cleaner and seeing if the switch recovers. Paul Kile Paul D.
