It all boils down to that old economic cliche, "Supply and Demand". There
were only about 105,000 MGA's built in their entire model run. And it seems
that now days there are at least that many people wanting one!!!.
Any time the demand for a car (or any thing else for that matter) rises
and the supply remains the same, or indeed falls, the price is going to go
up.
When you compare a TR-4 price to a MGA, you are comparing apples and
oranges.
A better comparison would be a TR-3. They were contempary and the demand for
both is similar.
The next time you see a "restored" MGA for $10,000 either jump on it real
quick, unless the DPO's idea of a Complete Resoration was a $299 paint job
from the local MACCO shop
