Kevin... I've done it several times. In fact, I found it impossible to
remove my engine with the Gearbox attatched. (Probably because I was 21
and stupid at the time.) All that is required is a small amount of
patience to slip it back in when the time comes. perhaps no more than 4 or
5 minutes of trying to align it and rocking turning the crank. It wasn't
hard at all.
You may get different answers from other guys, but this was my experience.
