Michael:
Try the motor #, on the passenger side of the block. That should tell you
what year the motor is from.
Rubber-bumpered cars that have been converted to chrome have two telltale
things about them: 1) The front frame rails must have been cut at some point
around the radiator valance and 2) the rear quarter panels must have been
either replaced, or have a small bit of metal below the tail lamp cover added
(welded, usually) on.
Presence of a Weber does not necessarily mean that the car was originally
pre-74 1/2, but if it was a later motor, it must have had the stock exhaust
manifold replaced.
There should be a plate inside the driver's side door that tells you the year
of the car. Is that still there? If not, on the front valance, forward of
the radiator, there should be an odd leyland thing called a 'commission
number' that will also help identify the car's year.
Good luck...I hope for your sake it's a 69 with a 75 interior.
