I am so pleased with the results that I'm wondering if the whole car
could
be done with spray cans. Since its not a unibody, it will knock down to
fairly manageable pieces. Would this be a big mistake? How about just
for the primer? Anybody out there ever try this?
Bob - A friend of mine (Peter Zorn from Florida) has done his whole TC
with nothing more than Krylon spray paint, straight from the can. The
paint in the spray cans carries much less pigment relative to the
solvents than regular "mix it yourself" paint. Nonetheless, his is a
credible job and he claims it is simple to do touch up in the event of a
scratch or nick. However, Peter is a commercial artist, so has the talent
to do a good job regardless of the medium.
My advice is try it. If it doesn't work out, the investment is minimal.
On a totally unrelated matter, is it possible to attach pictures to these
e-mails (like jpegs)? For those with access to scanners, it would be very
convenient for illustrating how some gizmo on the car goes together. A
picture
is worth a thousand words. Of course pictures are big memory (and
bandwidth)
hogs. It may not be appropriate to post something that big on the
mailing
list.
Yes, but it depends on your mail system. There are two primary methods of
encoding binary attachments - MIME or UUENCODE - to Internet mail. Both
are acceptable, but MIME is the preferred. MIME attachments are much
smaller but are not universally handled by all mail systems.
