Nope! IMS (there's that word again) the OD has, in effect, its own clutch.
I have never had any problems with the OD because I didn't use the
clutch. Have done a lot of 4th Over to 3rd Standard shifts and it
lives on.
On the earlier B overdrives one could use the gas pedal to delay the
move into (or was it out of) OD after the dash switch had been moved.
