A bricklayers bolster chisel carefully pointed around the periphery of the
join & very gently walloped with a lump hammer worked for me...
This is not a recommendation, just a piece of information!
I did actually consider heating the top part to cause it to expand slightly
relative to the block & break its hold but I never got round to trying it as
plan-A worked OK. Has anyone ever tried this method?
