To All
Old Speckled Hen was a brewery in Abingdon-on-Thames and sold their
"eggs" in kegs and bottles. I suspect that some of the best design
work was done over a pint. I have never had the opertunity to taste
the brew. Does anyone know where it avaliable in the States?
Abingdon was a close town very much attached to the MG factory. Even
the brewery advertisement had the MG logo on it.

You know that an early MG works trials team was named after a certain breed
of chicken - the Old Speckled Hen team?
Yes.
Well now, in Tesco (UK Supermarket), you can buy eggs produced by the breed
that inspired the name.
What?
Speckledy Hen Eggs are on sale in Tesco. Produced by the famous breed of
chicken and tasting like eggs used to taste.
Oh, great $-)
I bought a pack (it's true) and they do taste so much better. Now they've
just got to breed the Hens to stamp the MG logo on them like they used to
stamp the Lion logo!
