Yes, the axle housing, the half shafts and (obviously) the hubs are different.
The wire wheel half shafts are somewhere around 1/2 longer than the steel
wheel half shafts.
I checked a few catalogues and they all confirm this.
Note also that the handbrake actuator rods and the front disks are also
different for wire/steel wheel sprigets.
The wire wheels are also wider than the steel wheels. With offset changes,
I thought the track was the same (???) but this is a wild guess rather
than informed speculation!
