Help! Alternator Swap

Help, The previously mentioned alternator with the flicker in the 
charging light died on the way into work today (looks like rain of 
course, hope I can get home). What I need to know is if the alternator in 
the 75 B is compatible with the ones in my 72? I have a project car (the 
75) with a good alternator. Can I swap it out?
