Back in 63-64 Vic Elderbrock did a dino. ( hot rod I think) test on these motors & he said that a 8.8 & 10.5 motors were realy 8.3 & 10 to 1. & that the 8.3 motor made 135 hp. & the 10.5 motor made 185 hp. With elect. ing. good valve springs ported head & the new elderbrock 2198 intake you can get a strong 200 hp. I run 9.5 in my rover motor with a buick dist. isky 256 cam, 400 carter a f b , 2198 manafold & I am sure I am getting 180 & with a 3.07 rear did a 14.5 1/4 mile on 89. oct. Glenn > > |
