Stu,
No the handle does NOT unscrew. Once the recessed screw is removed from the
handle, the handle simply pulls out. Sometimes it's a bit stiff, but it will
pull off. Then the cover should lift off.
Send it to me if you want it overhauled.
Cheers,
Lew Palmer

Subject: TD Wiper disassembly
The wiper motor on my 1951 TD blew a fuse. Replaced the fuse, not blow
again, but no motor movement. There is 12 v dc at the motor terminals. How
do I remove the outer case to inspect? I removed the screw recessed in the
manual lever control (as well as the screws on either side of the case), but
I cannot remove the handle. Looking at the picture in the Workshop Manual,
page N.14, it appears the manual lever is screwed on the shaft. It will not
unscrew, even though I hold firm the motor/wiper shaft. Is there some
locking mechanism that holds the handle from unscrewing once the center
screw is removed? Which way does the handle unscrew - CW or CCW?
Thanks
