Bob,
An attitional item that wil help keep gas from slopping out of the tank
is a piece of 1 1/2" chrome sink drain pipe. Get the type that is used
for extensions and has a small flange on one end. Cut it to 3 - 4
inches in length and drill a 3/16" hole clear through about 1/2 to 3/4
inch down from the top. Slide this into the tank filler, the flange
will rest on the lip inside the filler. Line the holes up for and aft
to allow air to escape while filling the tank. This item alone will
minimize the gas slopping out even when the gasket is worn out.
Good luck,
Dave
