The OEM treatment was called "aluminzing" which is, basically, the
spraying of liquid aluminum onto the cast iron. Check in your yellow
pages for a place that does it. This is a process that has been pretty
much superceded by the ceramic coatings, but some shops still do it and
it works well enough to hold up for 15-20 years or so.
At my engine rebuilding, I assumed that aluminizing was no longer
available, so I had my manifold aluminum-ceramic coated by a place in
E.Hartford, CT. They do the same thing as Jet Hot, but at about half the
price. If you decide to go that route, I can get address and phone #
from my records for you.
