If you are going to drive the car and want it to be reliable, put the second original pump on the shelf in your garage and leave it there. Mount a modern low pressure electronic pump just ahead of the fuel tank as in your #2 and push fuel to (and through) the stock SU pump on the firewall. This not only solves all the fuel pumping problems, but eliminates vapor locking also. Properly installed, the addition is invisible unless somebody in under the car looking up. RayG |
