[Land-speed] brake part needed

Does anybody know where I can find a master cylinder brake pedal push rod
(manual brakes)  for a 1978 Firebird.  I have looked all over the intenet and
in every catalog I can find. My local dealer get's a "deer in the headlights
stare" when I mention a model older that 2005!
