Tom, A 305 head is only about 58 cc's so you have increased the
compression ratio to about 11 to 1. The local hobby stock guys have been
doing this for years without any heating problems. There is nothing
trick or really different about a 305 vs a 350 head. Check water flow
and pump pressure. Might want to reduce the timing because of the
increase in compression. Did it overheat with the 350 heads? Is the
by-pass open? Lots of things to check, but no different than any SB Chevy.
