Sorry, but I have to express my pain. I lost a friend in Iraq this week.
Carl was a young man that worked for me in the shop. The high school
auto shop teacher and I are friends. When he would get a kid that just
needed some 1 on 1 work and was a good kid he would send him to me on a
ROP program. Carl didn't have a father and his mother is strange. He
would hang around the shop just to be here. He loved working in the
shop. I let him do his homework in my office because he would do it in
his car rather than go home. He joined the army and was a mechanic in
the motor pool. Every time he was in town on leave he would come and see
what new race car we had in the shop and tell me about all the great
things they were doing for the people of Iraq. He could not understand
why the news was not showing what was really going on over there. We
never could work it out for him to go to Bonneville because the army
always had other plans for him at that time.
Then I turn on the TV and see a bunch of candy ass, worthless
politicians telling us the army can't win and we need to surrender and
get out.
This was much longer but I edited out most of my anger and frustrations
with the people that want us to lose this war.
