You must also disable the alternator lead to kill the engine. Taking the
battery out of the circuit may not kill the engine. Battery disconnect switch's
are available that have an extra contact to kill the alternator too.
It depends how you wire it. It won't need double terminals if you run the
alternator lead directly to the battery terminal, and have the cutoff in the
positive battery feed. That way you cut all power when cutting the flow
through the main battery cable. The alternator would be left feeding the
battery until the engine stops turning, but the power to the ignition is
terminated when you pull the switch.
